Birth date on gravestone is correct. Obituary and Social Security date of birth shows Jul 16, but correct date was Jul 6. Her beloved cousin and childhood playmate, Mary Hester Trustdorf Egli who was born on 5 Jul, always said that Maxine was the best birthday present she ever got!

Excerpts from her obituary published in the The Times Reporter on March 1, 2009:

Maxine M. Ange, age 90, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died peacefully late Friday afternoon, Feb. 27, 2009, in New Dawn Retirement Center at Dover, where she has resided the past 27 years.

Born at Layland in Coshocton County, she was daughter of the late Lawrence and Leona Duncan Meyer. Maxine was yet an infant when her family relocated to New Philadelphia, where whe attended school and was reared on the city's east side, in a house that today is home to her great-great grandchildren.

Maxine is best known for her longtime affiliation with the former LaFountaine's Variety Store and the Earl E. Smith Dry Goods Store. There, she had worked alongside her husband, the lat Victor Angel, who managed the store. In 1963, they married and observed 17 years together before his death in June 1979.

Mrs. Angel was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia.

In addition to her parents and husband, Maxine is preceded in death by an infant son, Lawrence Edison Maurer.

The Rev. Dr. Steven R. Bailey will lead a service celebrating Maxine's life Tuesday afternoon, March 3, at 1:30 in the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia, where the family will receive friends following the service during a luncheon reception in the church fellowship hall. Mrs. Angel will be laid to rest earlier in the day, during a graveside committal service in Evergreen Burial Park.
