Nita Dean McCandless Moore, a long time resident of San Antonio, passed away on October 16, 2009 at the age of 78. She was born on April 9, 1931 in Santa Anna, Texas.
All that knew her will forever miss her loving and kind heart. Nita was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Throughout her adult life she worked tirelessly to support her family, working in the counselors office at MacArthur High School, managing numerous apartments and finally retiring from the San Antonio State Hospital. She continued to be active and work at Wal-Mart until her most recent illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Roy McCandless; and brother, Wendell McCandless. Nita is survived by her son, Terry Floyd Moore and wife, Jessie Lynne; grandchildren, Thomas Lynn, Jessica Theresa, Jennifer Anne and Amy Marie; twin sister, Eva Lieber and husband Otis; sister, Sandra Holt; 5 nieces and a nephew; 4 great nieces and a great nephew.
