Lois passed away Mar. 31, 1987 in Spokane. She was born in Duqueen,AR. Her family moved to Wenatchee, Washington when she was about six years old. During her teen years the family moved to Leavenworth. She married Robert Norton In Wenatchee Aug. 25 1941. Lois moved to Spokane in 1942 to be with Robert where he died of tuberculosis in a Spokane Sanitorium on Dec, 5, 1944. They had one son, Robert Calhoun Norton, born Feb.15, 1943. He died Aug 22,1943. Lois married Jack Hessel in Spokane, Wa. in 1947 where they owned Jack's Auto Wrecking. Lois and Jack raised the three children of a man that worked for Jack. They were Julie, Marilyn and Douglas Smallwood. Lois had went back to Arkansas in 1951 to bring her mother back to Spokane and Jenny lived with Lois and Jack until her death in 1962. Lois was survived by her husband Jack , and her brother Jess Calhoun. She was preceded in death by her brother Alfred Calhoun. Funeral services were by Replinger Funeral Home in Spokane.
