Private Anderson Bunch was sick in the hospital in Columbia, Tennessee, since January 2, 1865. He was sent to Emptive General Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, sick with smallpox, on February 18, 1865, and died there of smallpox on March 10, 1865, at age 28 years. He was buried in Range 58, Grave 68.

Eliza Bunch applied for a widow's Civil War pension on May 29, 1865, based on the service of Anderson Bunch, H 5 Tennessee Infantry. The guardian of a minor of Anderson Bunch applied for a pension on June 23, 1873.
