Reva Killian Boren passed away on September 24, 2012 at the Uintah Care Center of natural causes, one day after her 91st birthday surrounded by her family.

Reva was born on September 23, 1921 in Salem, Utah to Clarence Leo Killian and Sara Emily Hadfield Killian.

Reva married Edwin Curtis Fisher on December 31, 1940. They later divorced.

Reva then married Jack L. Boren and their two families were joined to one, Reva raised four sons, Butch, Craig, Jack L. Jr. and Todd.

Reva was raised in Mountain Home, Utah and graduated from Altamont High School and continued her education at a Salt Lake City beauty school. After her graduation she opened Reva's Beauty Shop in Vernal, Utah, which she successfully operated for the next 35 years.

When Jack retired from the Vernal Police Department she closed the beauty shop and they moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1979.

Together they owned, trained and raced horses at the Turf Paradise racetrack and soon became part of the horse racing family.

Reva loved working with the public and with her reputation of never being idle, took a job at the pizza stand and soon began to make many lifelong friends.

Every summer Reva and Jack would return home to Vernal to be close to their family and to spend time on the family farm raising cattle and farming.

1988 proved to be a very hard year for Reva. She lost her husband Jack on March 13, 1988, her son Jack Jr. on April 28, 1988 to a tragic circumstance, and her brother Blaine later that summer. With the love and support of her family she made it through those difficult times.

Reva continued to reside in Phoenix until she was finally convinced by her family to retire and return to Vernal in May of 2000.

Reva will be missed by all who knew her.

Reva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, her son Jack Jr., her brothers Leo, Claude, Blaine and Dale Killian.

Reva is survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, sisters Carma (Jack) Dawson, Karolyn (Jerry) Burrows and Sharon Johnson.

Funeral Services were held Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Uintah Ward LDS Chapel, 3990 South 1500 East on Bonanza Highway at 12Noon. A viewing was held 9:45~11:45 A.M. prior to the services. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park.
