WEBB CITY, Mo. - Paul Franklin Pyle, 69, 718 S. Ellis St., died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after a short illness.

Mr. Pyle was born Jan. 7, 1928, in Lawrence County. He lived in Webb City for 44 years. He was a salesman for Pearl Brothers hardware in Joplin. He retired in 1990. He previously was a salesman for the former B.F. Goodrich store in Joplin.

He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Webb City, and the Seekers Sunday School Class. He was on the board of directors of the Webb City Housing Authority and a volunteer for Prestige at St. John's Regional Medical Center. He was a former Boy Scout leader. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He married Frances Peek on June 21, 1953, in Webb City. She survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Kevin Pyle, Webb City; a daughter, Paula Pyle Moore, Joplin route 7; two brothers, Earl Pyle, Carthage, and Harley Pyle, Sarcoxie; seven sisters, Fern Wright, Joplin, Margaret Uber and Ruth Platt, both of Carthage, Lorene Glidewell, Springfield, Eula Mae Thomas, Golden City, Erma Thomas, Lockwood, and Loretta Thomas, Miller; and one granddaughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Central United Methodist Church, Webb City. The Rev. Tom Shouse and the Rev. J.K. Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Leroy Uber, Dennis Pyle, Stanley Pyle, Todd Pyle, Craig Thomas, Doug Studyvin, William Thomas and Brent Michler.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home.

Contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church memorial fund.
