84, of Pueblo, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 2, 2009. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Abeyta Jr.; parents, Francisco and Rosa Carpio; brothers, Francis Eugene, Aaron Ruben and Charles Benjamin Carpio; and her dog, Dobie. Irene is survived by her children, Robert "Bob" (Tina) Carpio, Charles "Junie" (Neri) Albo and Serafina "Sara" (George) Garcia; grandchildren, Diana (Rob) King, George Garcia Jr., Ted (Simy) Garcia, Marc (Desiree) Albo, Desiree (Shelby) Honeywell, Joey Carpio Jr. and Amber Carpio; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Abeyta and Helen Huerta; and other extended family and friends. Irene was very talented when she would crochet. She enjoyed spending time working in her yard. Irene and her husband, Pete, were best friends, they loved traveling together. Irene and Pete will celebrate his birthday Oct. 6, in heaven this year together. She was proud of her grandchildren and loved to "baby" them all with her fabulous cooking. Viewing, 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Romero Chapel. Funeral service, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Romero Chapel. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will be received at Romero Courtesy Hall following interment.
