"Funeral services for Bernice Foster Howell, 93, of Clackamas, will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Holman-Hankins-Rilance Funeral Home with burial to follow at Lone Fir Cemetery.
Mrs. Howell died Wednesday at San Bernardino, California.
A resident of the community during her entire time, Mrs. Howell was born in Clackamas December 9, 1869. She was the daughter of Frank and Mary Foster and the granddaughter of Philip Foster, early Oregon pioneer and operator of the first trading post west of the Rockies.
Mrs. Howell was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years and she also belonged to the Clackamas Rebekah Lodge and the Clackamas Congregational Church.
Survivors are a son, George E. (Ted) Howell, Clackamas; a brother, Walter Foster, Clackamas; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Davis, Portland; two grandchildren, Mrs. Shirley O'Connor, San Bernardino, Calif.; Lt. Col. John C. Howell, Cheyanne, Wyoming; and four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers friends may make contributions to the Clackamas Congregational Church Building Fund."
