Claude was born in Indian Territory, now Oklahoma. He married Willie Lee Sullivan and had three children. The oldest was William Adelbert Daniel, Oleta Mae Daniel, and Claude Daniel, Jr. William Adelbert Daniel is buried in the grave immediately to the right of Claude and Willie Lee. Claude worked in the oil fields of Oklahoma and Texas when he was younger and he survived an oil derrick explosion in Sanford, TX in which one of his older brothers was killed. Claude was burned badly on the lips and ears. He worked as a pipe fitter and steam fitter in California.
