Adams, Earl 82, of Sunman, died Friday, September 12, 2003 at the Waters of Batesville. He was born March 9, 1921 in Letcher County, Kentucky the son of Tishie Sexton and Harrison Adams, Sr. He married Wanda Lee Gibson and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Gwen Carpenter of Hotchkiss, Colorado, one son, Hugh Adams of Milan, 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Elma Collins of Sunman, Tawana Adams of Whitesburg, KY, brothers, Albert Adams of Napoleon and Harrison Adams, Jr. of Sunman. Three sisters, Melissa Racine, Emma Boggs, and Sue Kaylor and two brothers, Edgar and Fred Adams preceded him in death. Mr. Adams was the retired owner of the Sunman Restaurant, a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, September 16, 4-8 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, Sunman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 17 at 1 p.m. slow time at Cook Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Paul Cemetery, Sunman with military honors by Kenneth L. Diver Post #337, American Legion, Sunman. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
