Hugh T. Flynn, well known here, passed away at the home of his son in Omaha on November 23 following a paralytic stroke about five weeks previous. He had been in failing health all summer, however.
Mr. Flynn was born in Philadelphia, Penn., Sept. 14, 1855, and was 67 years old at the time of his death. He was married to Mary McDevitt at Philadelphia on February, 21, 1876, and this this union nine children were born, five surviving as follows: Thomas of Blair, Neb.; Francis of Downey, Ia.; John of Omaha,; Mrs. Mary Kinney of Missouri Valley, and Mrs. Bernice Wonder of Omaha.
After the death of his first wife, he was married to Elizabeth McCann at Philadelphia on August 4, 1903. She and the five children surviving him.
He came west in 1890 and located at Modale, coming to Missouri Valley some twelve or fifteen years ago, where he had been employed by the carpentry trade and by the Northwestern railway.
Requiem High Mass was said at St. John's church, Omaha, on Saturday, November 25th, and the body was laid to rest in the Holy Sepulcher cemetery.
