Obituary:
Floyd Cotton, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend passed away on August 18, 2008.

Floyd was born on September 15, 1924 to Amos and Jessie Cotton in Sedro-Woolley, WA. Floyd lived and attended school in Burlington, WA, where he maintained lifelong friendships with his classmates.

Floyd served in the Army in World War II and fought in the European theater, where he received a Bronze Star and other commendations. He took part in the Normandy invasion on D-Day and went on to fight in the Battle of the Bulge and into the occupation. He was proud of his contribution to the continuing liberty of our country and was an active member of the American Legion Post in Stanwood, WA for many years.

After his military service, Floyd lived primarily in Skagit County, WA where he worked as a truck driver and farmer. He moved, with wife Iris, to Camano Island, WA in 1968 and worked until his retirement at Twin City Foods.

The great joy and love of his life was his wife, Iris, with whom he shared his love, his life, and his laughter. Floyd was very proud of his children and grandchildren and played an active role in their lives.

Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Iris; his brother, Robert Wade of Burlington and his son Ron Lunde.
He is survived by sisters, Verna Melacherik and Maxine Kahn and children Kari Cluney, John (Judy) Keyt (Cotton), Jessie Keyt, Darlene Johnson, Carmen Lunde, and Byron (Bonnie) Lunde. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and his 'best girl' Queenie.
