The funeral for Mrs. Alean Avinger, 84, of Holly Hill, will be held at noon Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roy Lee Durant officiating. Burial will be in Felder Ceemtery, Vance.
Mrs. Avinger died Thursday, March 14, at the Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg.
Mrs. Alean M. Avinger, daughter of the late Luther Mack and Okello, was born April 14, 1928, in Holly Hill. Mrs. Avinger was married to the late Henry L. Avinger Sr. on Jan. 25, 1946. This union was blessed with 13 children.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories nine daughters, Ella Avinger of Amityville, N.Y., Nathlien Williams, Linda Smith, Becky Avinger and Gwendolyn Avinger, all of Boston, Judy Wright of Vance, Shelly R. Jamison of Eutawville, Clareatha Kearse of Holly Hill, and Catherine Stephens of Bowman; four sons, Henry Avinger Jr., James M. Avinger and Franklin H. Avinger, all of Boston, and Thomas V. Avinger of Plantation, Fla.; nine sisters; two brothers; sister-in-law; 30 grandchildren; 57 great-grands; 13 greatgreat-
grands; nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and caretaker.
