Luther Drew Johnson, son of Jerry and Julia Johnson, both deceased was born near Houston, August 16, 1894, departed this life December 7, 1951, making his age 57 years, 3 months and 2 days
Most of his life was spent in Texas County. His occupation was a farmer. He served as Clerk of the Commissary Dept. overseas in World War I. He has been an active director with the R.E.A. for the past fourteen years.
He was active in all civic and public affairs.
He was converted and joined the Baptist Church of Bartlesville, Okla., later moving his membership to the Solo Baptist Church.
Luther was married to Belle Marr October 1, 1928 at Licking, Missouri.
They moved to their present farm located on Indian Creek, near Houston. To this union was born two sons and one daughter, all of whom survive him, also three stepchildren.
Children surviving are: Bob C. Johnson, Dike, Iowa; Mrs. Ruth Wilson, Houston, Mo.; Frank Johnson, of the home. Stepchildren: Mrs. Marjorie Lybyer, Huggins, Mo,; James E. Marr, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Lena Harrell, Silver Springs, Maryland.
Brothers and sisters surviving are: Russell Johnson, Elk Creek, Mo.; Mrs. Mabel Odle, Solo, Mo.; Mrs. Lena Burch, Simmons, Mo.; Mrs Bessie Flowers, Houston, Mo.; Mrs. Edna Morgan, Pierce City, Mo. One uncle, C. L. Johnson, Houston, Mo.; one aunt, Meg Light, Willow Springs, Mo,; also a large number of other relatives and a host of friends.
