She was born on December 6, 1924 in Readfield the daughter of the late Albert and Edna (Schneider) Ehlke. Caroline graduated from New London High School in 1942. On November 27, 1947 Caroline married David Meshke in New London. He preceded her in death in 1962. She formerly worked at Bordens, Curwood, Moor-O-Matic, and Rainbow Motel. She also worked as an operator for the telephone company and at Meshke's Meats & Groceries.
"Caroline is surivved by two sons: Daniel Lee Meshke, Fond Du Lac; Paul Eric (Amy Louise) Meshke, Germantown; a daughter, Bona Deane Jordan (Dan O. Nelson), Pine, Colorado; a brother, Walter (Esther) Ehlke, New London; a sister, Adeline Schimke, New London; three grandchildren also survive Caroline: Corrine Nadine, Danielle Lindsay and Erica Denae Meshke.
"She is preceded in death by an infant brother, Willy and a son, Kirk David in 1956.
"Funeral services for Caroline will be held on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran church in Readfield with Rev. Brian Henning officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Readfield. Friends may call on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London from 4-8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service."
