Ohio, USA
Death: Oct. 4, 2005

Hershel was the son of Boyd Crockett Bourne (Smythe County, Virginia) and Naomi Idella Gephart (Montgomery Co., OH).

He married Mildred Eileen Wion 19 Sept., 1945. Together they had three children. The photo here is of Hersh and his middle daughter, Karen, also deceased. Photo was taken in 1982.

He was a farmer at heart but earned a living driving a truck - for Wampool Coal Supply, Aeroproducts, Trojan Freight Lines, American Freight to name a few. He was also a brick layer, lawn mower repair person - you name it, he could do it. He was a member of and Union Steward for Teamsters Union Local 937. He was also a proud member of the Butler Twp. Fire Department from 1962 to ?

He loved square dancing and camping.

"In life we loved you, in death we do the same. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again."

God's Garden Must Beautiful

God looked around the garden,
and found an empty space.
He looked down upon the earth,
and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
for he only takes the best.
He knew that you were weary,
and he knows you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
be well on earth again.
He saw the roads were getting rough,
and the hills were hard to climb
So he closed your weary eyelids,
and whispered peace to thine.

Always a silent hurt,
many a silent tear,
but always a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.

God gave us strength to bear it,
and courage to take the blow,
but what it meant to lose you one will ever know.

May your light shine brightly amongst the stars to let your loved ones know that you are always watching over them.
