Frances Anderson was the daughter of Mary Olive Imes Anderson and Marvel Elijah Anderson. Frances was born in Colorado and later moved to Mesa, AZ with her family. Frances was one of eight children born to Mary Olive and Marvel Elijah. Kitty Lenore, a sister to Frances, died when she was 10 months old from whooping cough and is buried in Colorado. Frances lived on a farm in Mesa with her family and helped with many farm chores. Frances graduated from Tempe Normal School (later Arizona State University)and started her teaching career in Nogales, AZ. In 1936, Frances was fatally injured in an automobile accident on the Nogales Highway which took place while returning home with a friend after attending a football game in Tucson, AZ. Frances, so pretty and young, had just begun her second year of teaching when her death occurred at such a young age. The unexpected loss of Frances was a great shock to her family, her Grandmother, Permelia Venora Imes, and all who knew her. Aunts, Uncles, and Grandmother Permelia helped the family try to get over the tragic loss of young Frances.
