From Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home:
Marsha Rae Ivy Ammann passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in Boerne. She was 71 years old. She was born to William and Marcella Ivy on January 12, 1939.
Marsha was a unique and colorful individual. She was a native Texan born in Iraan and raised in San Angelo. She was a scholar who put herself through the University of Texas with a double major in psychology and sociology. She also taught herself Latin. She later met Gordon Ammann and married him only two weeks later. They were married for over 45 years before his death. Marsha was an artist in every way. She loved to paint, sculpt, and write. She began writing for "The Hill Country Recorder" newspaper in 1984 and entertained area readers with humorous articles on family life. She published a collection of her columns called "Dearest Momma." Mrs. Ammann was an Oblate Nun with the Benedictine Sisters of Boerne. She was very in touch with nature and enjoyed her garden and her goats. Marsha never knew a stranger. She was quite the conversationalist. Her greatest accomplishment though was raising her seven children.
Mrs. Ammann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her eldest son Johnny Ammann, and her great grandson Paxdn.
Marsha is survived by: her children Douglas Ammann and his wife Shelley, Michelle Asher and her husband Jeff, Marijill Guajardo, Joseph Ammann, Tessa Ammann, and Jason Amman; her brother Bill Ivy; her grandchildren Lesa, Alyssa, Madalynn, Brandy, Shanise, Kelvin, Amanda, Derrick, Christopher, Courtney, Jacob, and Kobe; and a nephew Wade Ivy. She was blessed with great grandchildren William, Michale, Raelyn, Kilee, and Jaydn.
