William Elmer Cavasos passed away at home on October 21, 2015. He was 93 years old.
He was born in Leedey, Oklahoma and was the eldest of seven siblings born to Addiee and Lawrence Adrain Cavasos. He served in World War II until his father's early death and married Nora Wolff in 1944. He has lived and farmed in the Wheatland/Rio Oso area for the past 68 years. He loved farming, fishing, and growing his tomatoes. He was proud of and generous with everything he grew.
He is survived by a daughter, Nora Bashian and her husband Robert of Fresno, three sons: Larry Cavasos and his wife Judy, Ernie Cavasos, and Fred Cavasos all of Rio Oso. He is survived by seven grandsons: Gregory Bashian, Jefferey Bashian, Jason Cavasos, Jacob Cavasos, Cody Cavasos, Cameron Cavasos, William Ray Cavasos and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Earl Cavasos, Harvey Cavasos, Verna Mae Shelton, and Mary Griffin. He was preceded in death by his wife Nora Belle, a daughter Leila, two sisters Ethel Mowles and Nina Webb.
The family greatly appreciates the care given by Sutter Home Health Nurses, Dr. Rose and his office staff.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at 2:00PM. There will be a memorial reception at Rio Oso Community Hall following the service.
Remembrances may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
