Margaret Ann Simpson (1829 - 1891) was the Wife of James A. Gould (1828 - 1905). The young couple were married at the Court House in Columbiana, Shelby, Alabama on February 26, 1852 with the Ceremony being performed by Justice of the Peace, Jordan Jones. Margaret Ann Simpson was the Daughter of Hezekiah and Martha Simpson from Georgia.

Hezekiah Ezekial Simpson (1795 - 1865) & Martha Morris (1805 - 1861) were joined in Holy Matrimony at Washington, Wilkes, Georgia in 1822, resulting in 7 Children to be born from their union; Sophia Simpson (1824 - 1890), Ezekial Hood Simpson (1826 - 1862), Margaret Ann Simpson (1829 - 1891), Asa J. Simpson (1830 - 1864), Sarah J. Simpson (1835), Martha Jane Simpson (1838 - 1905) & Malinda L. Simpson (1839).

The first 4 of their Children; Sophia Simpson (1824 - 1890), Ezekial Hood Simpson (1826 - 1862), Margaret Ann Simpson (1829 - 1891) & Asa J. Margaret Ann Simpson (Gould) died at the age of 61 years at her home in Columbiana, Shelby, Alabama on Saturday morning, June 13, 1891. She was laid to rest at nearby Summer Hill Cemetery the following day during the early afternoon on June 14, 1891. The Funeral Services were performed by Rev. Dr. Teague.
