Otis Adkins; age 74 of Route 3, Vienna, died Saturday, November 28, 1987 at Massac Memorial Hospital, Metropolis. He was born September 22, 1913 in Illinois, the son of Charles and Bertha Taylor Adkins. On May 2, 1938 he married Ruby McCuan at Jackson, Missouri. She survives. Mr. Adkins is also survived by two sons, William R. Adkins of Hammand, Indiana and Jimmy Ray Adkins of Vienna; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Virgil Adkins of Tinley Park; three sisters, Clarice Holman, Vivian O'Neil and Maxine Adkins, all of West Frankfort. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Len Adkins. Mr. Adkins was a retired sandblaster of J.W. Reynolds Monument Company. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 1, 1987 at 1 p.m. at Whitnel Funeral; Home, Vienna. The Rev. Orval Simmons officiated. Burial was in Reynoldsburg Cemetery.
