Stephen was born in Oklahoma City on May 22, 1965, the youngest of three children of Mae Davenport Cox and Burton Boyd Cox. He grew up and attended schools in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was married twice and had one daughter born in 1986.

Stephen was a computer programmer and was a quick-study when it came to understanding code and all that goes into web design and operations. He was self taught although he was certified in several types of applications and operations.

He was quite inquisitive and adventuresome, loved to ski and especially loved his cycles. The latter led to several accidents, the last on a dirtbike in which he broke both his legs and his left arm -- and he was lefthanded. He also was learning the guitar and would even practice at the beach. With the old injury to his left hand, he learned to play the guitar with his right hand... but he was mastering it quite well.

He also loved to travel and see places... that led him to several locations, the last of which was Panama City on the Florida coast. He was passionate about the ocean and spent many hours on the nearby beach. So fond was he that he decided this is where he wanted to live.

He was quite devoted to his daughter and loved the times she came to visit. She was a great joy to him and he loved her dearly.

His lung cancer was diagnosed in May 2010 and he died five weeks later -- just a month after his 45th birthday. A memorial service was held in Norman, Oklahoma and his cremains were buried at Independence Cemetery in Norman, Cleveland County, Oklahoma.
