"My great grandparents (Gunder and Eli Erickson*) lived on their homestead (in Chippewa County, MN*) and in the same house the rest of their life with the exception of a short stay with their son, Erick, who had moved to North Dakota. They went back to Iowa for a visit with their son John and daughter Bertha and while there great grandfather (Gunder*) died in January 1900. Great grandmother (Eli*) returned to Minnesota and made her home with her daughter, Maren Anderson until her death in February 1901."
