DEATH OF ISAAC HARDMAN- Isaac Hardman an old resident of the Fourth ward, this city, died at the home of his daughter Mrs. Frank Stanley, 860 south 8th West Street at 8:45 this morning.
Brother Hardman had been ailing for some time past and his death was due to dropsy.
He was born in Manchester, England, September 17, 1831, and emigrated to this country in 1855. His wife preceded him to the spirit world six weeks ago.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Fourth ward meeting house. Friends are invited.
It should be noted, that the birth date in the newspaper was incorrect. In the "England birth's and christening records" it states that Isaac was born August 23, 1831, and Christened September 11, 1831 in Prestwich; but that the family resided at Whitefield. Isaac always said that he was born in Pilkington. From GENUKI website it says: PILKINGTON, a township in Prestwich parish, and a sub-district in Bury district, Lancashire. The town-ship lies adjacent to the river Irwell and the East Lancashire railway, 5¼ miles N N W of Manchester; is cut into the three sections of Outwood, Unsworth, and Whitefield or Stand; contains the hamlets of Ringley, Cinderhill, Blackford, and Hollins;carries on industry in coal mines, several large cotton factories, bleach-works, and dye-works; and contains the churches of Ringley, Unsworth, and Stand. The Church of Stand is where Isaac and Alice were married.
