Soren came to the United States in 1904 and farmed in Swaledale. It is believed that he was a half brother to Anton Nelson.
Funeral services for Soren Anderson, 80, Swaledale, who died Friday in a Mason City hospital, were held Monday afternoon at the Patterson-James Rockwell Chapel. The Rev. O. W. Ihnen, pastor of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, officiated. Orville Witte was soloist. Mrs. Max Bokmeyer was pianist. Burial was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery at Swaledale.
