Son of Carlo and Elisia Rattazzi. At the age of 9, in 1905, Attilio and his mother came to America from Baveno, Novara, Italy. They were preceeded by Carlo Rattazzi who had already come to America to prepare a home for his family in Barre, Vermont. Attilio was a granite cutter in Barre and later met and married Rose Helen Schuff in Louisville, Kentucky. Together, Attilio (later nicknamed "Mutt") and Rose moved to Kansas City. He lived there until his death.
