Burton Hibbs Sr., age 74, of Winner, South Dakota went to see the Lord on Monday, July 16, 2001 at the Winner Regional Health care Center of Cancer.
Burton was born on September 12, 1926 at Ideal, South Dakota. He was the son of Ray and Marguerite (Lenker)Hibbs. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II and achieved the rank of Private first class. Burton recieved the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Medal, the WWII Victory Medal and was a Rifle Marksman. Burton was united in marriage to Ann Correa on March 31, 1945 at Honolulu, Hawaii. He was an Automotive Technician and Service Manager at Volkswagon of America and various Toyota dealerships until his retirement in 1992.
He is survived by three children, Peggy Ann (Jerry) Henton of Toledo, Oregon: Butch (Pam) Hibbs of Orem, Utah and Jack (Lisa) Hibbs of Chino Hills, California: grandchildren, Teddy Ritter, Amber (Nathan) Loftin, Rebekah Hibbs, Ashley Hibbs and Chance Hibbs: four sisters, Betty Kelsey of Hot Springs, South Dakota: Leathel Slagle of Cheshire, Oregon: Ruth Steinert of Walnut Grove, Oklahoma and Marily Yoder of Hot Springs, South Dakota: a special friend, Leota Allison of Winner, South Dakota and a host of other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents: his wife, Ann:one brother, Charles: sister, Jean and an infant baby sister.
