Services for Mrs. Verna May Bridges, 84, of 9303 S Anderson, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Bridges died Tuesday at Doctors General Hospital.

Verna's first husband was Clarence Spiegel Storey. The couple married in their teens. The family was living in a shack that belonged to her aunt and uncle when one day Clarence walked several miles into the small town of Yukon, Oklahoma and never went back, deserting Verna and their four children. Verna was forced to leave her small children with her parents and worked during the week as maid for a wealthy Oklahoma City family.
