Service Friday for Long Time Alma Resident
An Alma resident for 58 years, Mrs. Berdine Burt of 511 Ely Street died Thursday, January 15 at Wilcox hospital after eight days of hospitalization.
Mrs. Burt was born in Norway on January 10, 1881 and came to America at the age of eight or nine years. The wife of Fred Burt for 56 years, she and her husband once owned the farm that is now the site of Leonard Refineries. Since the sale of their farm, they had lived at their home on Ely street.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wright Funeral Home in Alma. Rev. Charles B. Hahn will officiate with internment in Riverside cemetery. Acting as pallbearers will be five of her grandsons, Julian Burt, Dale Burt, Harry Burt, Jr., John Burt, Ronald Burt, and a nephew Arthur Barry.
Mrs. Burt is survived by her husband, Fred; three sons, Roy of Jackson, Ralph of Lansing, and Harry of rural Breckenridge; eleven living grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
