MRS. RUTH HICKS
Ruth Lamb Hicks, 73, of Rt. 1, Jane Lew, died at 12:55 a. m. Monday, April 11, in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 29, 1903 in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late William and Ocie Jarvis Lamb.
She was married to Parris P. Hicks Sr., who preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1954.
She is survived by six sons, Everett Victor Hicks, Fairbanks, Alaska, Bernard Scott Hicks, Jane Lew, Otis Cecil Hicks and Robert J. Hicks, both of Weston, Parris P. Hicks Jr., Sheffield Lake, Ohio; and Samuel Ullman Hicks, Lorain, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. John (Lucille) Carson, Jane Lew, Mrs. Jim (Mary Lou) Propst, Lorain; and Sarah Lee Hicks, Jane Lew; three brothers, Cecil Lamb, Proctor, Henry Lamb, Chloe, and Aaron Lamb, Clendenin; one sister, Mrs. John (Alice) Arnold, Orma, 40 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hicks had been a member of the White Oak United Methodist Church for 60 years.
Funeral services were held a 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Fairview United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sheldon Workman, assisted by the Rev. Harry Miller, officiating. Burial was in the Fairview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

My appreciation to Toots (#48061967) for the following burial site info: In 1968 the name was changed to Friendship when the IOOF deeded it to the Friendship Cemetery Assoc, i.e. names Fairview or Fariview IOOF still used locally & by funeral homes.
