A month ago the "Tribune" published an account of a man named Victor Adam, near Madera, Cal., turning his little daughter out of doors, and of a woman named Anna Adam writing from Tucson that she was his wife. They formerly lived at Pinal, in this county. Last week Adam shot and killed his father-in-law, Judge J.L. Baker, near Madera, and the following day a mob hung him to a tree. He was about to be prosecuted for bigamy. Adam was of French nativity, having been born at Strasburg in 184?. He served in the French army in 1873. He had the reputation of being a hard citizen wherever he lived.
