Son of William M. Amos and Cora Ellen Heathman Amos. Albert was the 4th of 5 children born to the marriage.

Though Albert was born in Iowa, the family had moved to Oklahoma by 1900, his father a farmer near Flynn. The younger brother Paul was born in Oklahoma. By 1910, the family had moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma and the father was owner of a grocery store and Albert and a sister Ethel were salespeople in the grocery store.

Albert married Maude B. Martin, 13 Jan. 1913 at Ada, Pontiac, Oklahoma and sometime before his enlistment, moved to Idaho. There were 4 children from this marriage; Alberta, Martin, Billie and Don. Maude was born Aug. 1887 in Indiana.

Albert enlisted 13 Dec. 1917, in Idaho for service in World War I. He was in the 698th Motor Truck Corps and was discharged 13 Dec. 1919. At the time he enlisted he was married and had two children.

The 1920 census puts Albert, his wife, two children and his father-in-law in Buhl, Twin Falls, Idaho and it is in Buhl that Albert lived out his life. He was owner and merchant of a retail grocery store.

The 1930 census lists Albert, his wife and now four children and Albert is manager of a service station. He owns his home. The residence is on Castleford Road. He was still employed doing general service work at a filling station in 1940 and all four children are still at home. Daughter Alberta was a clerk in a retail drygoods store and son Martin a clerk in a retail grocery. They lived on 13th St N. and were at the same address in 1935. He was self employed in 1942.

Albert's sons also had military service records.
