Macel Beckner (Died October 2, 2009)
Macel V. "Jenny" Beckner, 83, of Sissonville went to be with the Lord October 2, 2009 at home after a short illness.
Jenny was a loving mother and wife who retired from St. Francis Hospital with 20 years service having worked as a breakfast cook. She attended Kelly's Creek Independent Church.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, James "Bill" Beckner; parents, Lloyd and Bessie Harrison; siblings, Viva Phillips, Velva Carnes, Eleanor Carney, Webster Harrison, Weck Harrison, Coda Harrison, Glenneth Harrison, and Coy Harrison.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Carolyn Sue Townsend and husband, Arnold, of Cross Lanes, Karen Joan Taylor and husband, Vincent, of South Carolina, James Randall Beckner and wife, Dena, of Rocky Fork, Angela Atkins and husband, Delbert, of Rocky Fork, and Deirdre Beckner of Charleston; sister, Carol Wandling of Cordova, TN; brother, Atlee Harrison of Evans; grandchildren, Jamie Taylor, Jason Beckner, Mathew Beckner, and Alisha Atkins; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews and a host of friends.
The Funeral Service will be 2pm Sunday, October 4 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Reverend Stanley Miller officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories Mausoleum Chapel, Sissonville.
A gathering of family and friends will be 7-9pm Saturday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Hospice Care for their wonderful care of Jenny. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. West, Charleston, WV 25312.
