Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, at St. Mary-St. Anthony Catholic Church, 615 North 7th Street, Kansas City, KS.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Skradski Chapel where the Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Hospice Care of Mid-America, 3110 Broadway, Suite 300, Kansas City, MO, 64111-2406.
Mr. Brockenfelt was born in Kansas City, KS, and was a life long area resident. He had been employed by Trans World Airline for 40 years as an analyst prior to his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St. Mary-St. Anthony Catholic Church, Kansas City, KS. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
Lt.
Brockenfelt was awarded the Croix-de-Guerre by the French Government. He also was awarded the Bronze Arrowhead and five Battle Stars for the Normandy, Ardenns, Rheiland and Central European campaigns. He graduated from Bishop England High School in Charleston, SC, and had attended St. Bernard Seminary College in Cullman, AL.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Helen J. Brockenfelt, who passed away May 12, 1997, and his father, Marcel Brockenfelt in 1967. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. and Jo Ellen Brockenfelt, Lenexa, KS; his mother, Florence M. Brockenfelt, Charleston, SC; two brothers, William Brockenfelt, Charleston, SC, and Eugene G . Brockenfelt, Summerville, SC; aunt, Maxine Bello, Kansas City, KS; three nephews; two nieces; three great nephews; and one great-niece.
