Frances Robert "Daddy Mick" deCheubel of Savage died Nov. 9 at Laurel Regional Hospital. He was 72.
Born May 28, 1933 in Simpsonville, he was retired after 20 years with General Electric as a warehouse handler. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Laurel. He was also a member of Hope Baptist Church in Laurel. He enjoyed crabbing and gardening.
Surviving him are his wife of 46 years, Thelma Jenkins deCheubel; two daughters, Vicky deCheubel and Linda Beahm, both of Savage; a son, Michael deCheubel of Savage; two sisters, Mary Spicer of Columbia and Ann Widner of Florida; four brothers, Bill deCheubel of Virginia, Lee deCheubel of Elkridge, Joe deCheubel of Florida, and Tom deCheubel of West Virginia; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Pocock; and two brothers, John and Fred deCheubel.
Funeral services were held Nov. 12 at Donaldson Funeral Home in Laurel. Interment was in Savage Cemetery in Savage.
