Paul David "Dave" Alger Jr. 76, passed away in Colton, California on June 21, 2016.
Formerly of Terre Haute Dave enjoyed traveling and spent winters and his later years in California. Born in 1940 to Paul David Alger Sr. and Audrey (Dale Updike) Alger of Indianapolis.
Dave married Susan Alice Wenz in 1959.
Originally from Indianapolis, Dave settled with his family in the Brazil area in 1967 and was active in the community.
Dave served with the Indiana Civil Defense and taught at Indiana Vocational Technical College, Indianapolis. Dave also worked at Navel Avionics and IBM during the 1960s, then as an Electrician in Terre Haute before retiring from Novelis, Terre Haute after 25 years of service. Also a local businessman with Susan, Dave operated Pizza Paradise in Brazil and Terre Haute, Service Associates of Indiana in Brazil and A Place in Time Event Venue in West Terre Haute.
Surviving family includes wife Susan Alger of Terre Haute, Indiana, Children Angel Alger of California, Holly Tipton and husband Shane, Paul David Alger III and wife Ann and Shawn Alger and wife Caroline of Indiana and grandchildren Amanda Maesch and Stacy Hostetter of California, Isabel and Paul David Alger IV and Joshua and Mandy Alger of Indiana. Preceded in death by parents Paul and Audrey Alger, brother Jack Alger and sister Jill Alger.
A Memorial Service honoring Dave will be held at A Place in Time Event Venue (2525 Interurban Road, West Terre Haute, Indiana 47885) on Friday, July 22nd at 4:00 pm.
