Christiana Evans Dowling married Thomas Brees 28 Oct 1847 in Greene County, Indiana. It appears that Thomas passed away before the birth of their last daughter, Margret. Christiana came to Texas about 1858 with her two daughters. No information is known how or who they came with. She appears on the 1870 census with her daughters although the names are slightly different, in Crockett.

April 24, 1876 she applied for a land grant-160 acres, file #137, Patent #153, Vol 4, this land was near Grapeland, Houston County. The last time Christiana appears on census is in 1880. Her death date is not known or where she is buried.

Christiana, has two granddaughters and a son-in-law buried at Parker Cemetery, Grapeland and it is possible she is buried there. There is room for two graves between William Dowling and one of his daughters. These graves are not marked.
