Amelia Magdalena Duenner's father was William Duenner born the 15 Dec 1811, in Weiheim, Tubingen, Schwarzwaldkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany; he died in 1880, in Kansas. Her mother was Amelia Magdolena (Lentz) Swartz born the 11 Aug 1809, in Saxony, Germany, died abt 1872, in Valparaiso, Porter Co, Indiana. Her parents were married in 1848.

FIRST MARRIAGE: Amelia married Horace Wilber Fairchild in 1870, Jasper County, Indiana. Horace was born the 29 Jan 1849, Hancock, Ohio, and died the 1 Apr 1877, Demotte, Jasper Co, Indiana. From that marriage she had three children: Thomas William Fairchild (1872-1935), Almira Elizabeth Fairchild (1873-1961) and Horace Wilber Fairchild Jr. (1877-1967).

SECOND MARRIAGE: The widow Amelia Magdalena Duenner Fairchild with three children married William Henry O'Donnal at the urging of his parents. He felt sorry for her. They were married the 11 Mar 1878, in Jasper Co, Indiana. Amelia was called "Laney" on the Indiana Marriage Record to William Henry. Amelia's daughter, Lilly, tells of a few good memories of her mother in her writings. She liked music and played the organ well. All the children and William Henry had good singing voices. They loved to sing church hymns together as a family with Amelia playing the organ. She was a very good homemaker and kept the house very clean. She was a faithful member of Relief Society, taking the children to church on Sundays. It was a marriage of convenience; they were a very unmatched couple according to her daughter, Lilly O'Donnal Whetten. Their marriage was an unhappy one for her, for she was very active, ambitious, and a go-getter. William Henry was slow and easy going. Their marriage ended in separation in 1902, while they were living in Colonia Garcia, Mexico. She went to California to stay with her son, Wilber Fairchild to help raise his newborn daughter after his wife had died. Years later after several strokes, when she could no longer care for herself, her son, Frank, came and took her back to his home and cared for her for a while, then took her to his sister, Lilly's. She died a few weeks later on the 23 Oct 1930, on Lilly's ranch called the Alamito Ranch near Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. She is buried in the Colonia Juarez Cemetery, Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.
