Mrs. Davis was born Dec. 25, 1934, in Chickasha, Okla. She moved to Lamar as a child and attended Lamar High School. Shirley worked as a nurse's aide at Barton County Memorial Hospital, then owned and operated Granny's House Boarding Home from 1981 until 1999.
She married Calvin Lee Davis on Dec. 28, 1952, in Lamar. He died April 3, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Throckmorton Marshall and a grandson, Luke Phillips.
Survivors include four daughters, Debbie Phillips, Crystal and husband Robert McGinnis, LeAnn Smith, and Penny and husband John Harmsen, all of Lamar. A brother E.J. and Coella Heerman, Grapevine, Tx. also survive. Shirley had seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Vistation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, at Daniel Funeral Home.
