Bill was named after his uncle. William (Gun lock) Hamblin. He had five brothers, James, Delmar, Remo, Marley & Jess and four sisters Laura Hullinger, Letah Woodward, Wanda Alison, Nyla Draper.

His Family moved from Victor ID around the time the Uintah Resorvation open for homesteading. (1906)
They settled in Monarch UT at the foot of the Uintah Mountains.

Uncle Bill enlisted in WWII. He was in the Invasion of Normandy. Along with other men who were to weary or had lost the mental capacity to fight on, were given the horrid task to stay and pick up the bodies(many in parts)of the men he had trained with.

The innocent farm boy was never the same again.
Now the term for the illness Bill suffered is Post Trama syndrome. But they had no treatment for it then.
He came home to loving arms of his family who dealt with
his state of mind as best they could. It was very hard on Grandma Mary. As I'm sure it was on many other families who's boys had suffered the same fate.

My mom was Uncle Bills sister Letah. We lived by him while I was growing up. He was kind to us kids and liked it when we visited. He was a expert electrician & carpenter and built his house mostly by himself & his brother Marley. He liked showing us his beautiful garden and yard. He would send for flower seeds, fruit trees & bushes by mail order. He would give us a large amount of what he had raised.

Uncle, "In that faraway land where our sweet Lord dwells, I know you have been rewarded with health and happiness in both body and soul. I will always remember your kindness to me". Love Pam
