MRS. ARMSTRONG DIES; AGED 68
Funeral Services Will Be Held From McGaheysville Methodist Church Saturday
Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Armstrong, aged 68, beloved wife of J. C. Armstrong, died at her home Wednesday morning at 8:45, following a stroke of paralysis. While she had not been in the best of health for several years, her friends did not realize the seriousness of her condition.
A daughter of Reuben T. and Nancy Catherine Cline Lam, Mrs. Armstrong was born at Goods Mill, and spent her entire life in the Penn Laird-Goods Mill section. She was a woman of fine Christian character, and was an active church worker, being a devout member of the McGaheysville Methodist Church for many years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three children; W. L. and L. P. Armstrong, and Mrs. Meryl Kisling, all of Penn Laird; two sisters, Mrs. Winifred Baker of Timber Ridge and Mrs. Ernest Long of West Point; and two brothers, John W. Lam of Cody, Wyoming, and T. H. Lam of Stephens City. She also leaves five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at eleven o'clock, from the McGaheysville Methodist Church, her pastor, the Rev. Charles Curtis, and the Rev. L. H. Smallwood officiating. Friends will meet at the Armstrong home at 10:30. Nephews will act as pallbearers. Burial will be in the McGaheysville Cemetery.
