Former Local Resident Passes Away

Word was received here Saturday of the passing away of A. E. Anderson, a former resident farmer of the Lancaster community, but for the past several years a resident of Lake Bronson.

Andrew Emanuel Anderson was born in Sweden on March 25th, 1868 and passed away at the Hallock Memorial Hospital on Friday, August 13, 1948, at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 19 days, the immediate cause of his death being cancer. The deceased had been in poor health for the past two years, having been hospitalized anumber of times during this period.

He came to this country from Sweden in the early days and had his share of hardship trying to make out a living for himself and his family. He was united in marriage to Frija Gustafson January 31, 1892 to this union nine children were born two of whom preceded him in death. His wife passed away on May 10, 1938. The deceased was engaged in farming all his life until about 4 years ago when he retired from active work on the farm.

Surviving him are five sons, Gust, Fritz, Sigfred and Olof, all of Lake Bronson and Victor of Sweden, two daughter, (Anna) Mrs. Elmer Holmstrom of Strandquist and (Judith) Mrs. Vernon Erickson of Anoke and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Sion Lutheran church on Monday, Aug. 16th at 11 a.m. at Lake Bronson with Rrev. Seastrand officiating. Interment was made in the Saron cemetery.
