Obituary:

Murl Junior Adamson, son of the late Ernest Charles “CE” and Ora (Arnall) Adamson, was born on August 24, 1926 in Hartville, Missouri, and departed this life on August 11, 2014 at Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri. He was 87 years, 11 months, and 19 days of age.

Murl grew up near Mountain Grove. He married Maxine Hudson in 1945. They later divorced. He served his country in the Army from 1949 – 1951. Murl married Mae Davis in 1950 and they moved to Iowa in 1952. Murl worked at Alcoa as a crane operator and retired on February 1, 1973. After retirement, they moved to Mountain Grove.

Murl enjoyed his family and loved spending time with them. He took great pride in his vehicles, spending lots of time maintaining them whether they needed anything or not. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, Murl was preceded in death by his wife, Mae, in 2008; one brother: James Adamson; and one daughter-in-law: Glenda Adamson.

He is survived by four sons: Ronald Adamson and his wife, Sheryl, of Roach, Missouri, Kirby Adamson and his wife, Paula, of Reynolds, Illinois, Mark Adamson of Kaiser, Missouri, and Robert Adamson of Springfield, Missouri; two daughters: Gwen Halsey and her husband, Monty, of Riverdale, Iowa, and Joyce Cole and her husband, David, of Seymour, Missouri; two brothers-in-law: John Davis and his wife, Margaret, of Davenport, Iowa, and Donald Davis and his wife, Bonnie, of Fordland, Missouri; one sister-in-law: Marie Burks of Fordland, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren: Shad Graham, Cristy Calhoun, Rhonda Hoffman, Russell Adamson, Tara Wise, Tracy Cole, Tina Scott, Cory Adamson, Josie Adamson, Robert Adamson, Jr., Billy Adamson, Donnie Adamson, and Ronnie Adamson; many great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
