This is my birth mother, my 3 siblings Carla, Carl, Arthur, and I was taken from her when I was 8. I last saw her when I was 9. I did not see Lila again until I was 16. My precious mom who raised me helped me find Lila.

Lila Rae Lane was Born to Alonzo Leroy Lane and Babe Myrtle (Haywood) Lane. Lila passed away in the University of Michigan Women's Hospital, at the age 59 from diabetes and many other health factors.

On May 15th Lila was going to have an operation to have both her legs amputated. But before they started they brought her out and told my brother Dale and I that she would not make it. They said it would be better to let her die on her own. She lived until the next day.

My brother Dale and I stayed at the hospital with her while she was dying. He and I were in the hospital when she took her last breath. Our other siblings came up later after she had passed away. My brother Dale took it the hardest of all the children. He was her caregiver for a long time.

She was married to my birth father Carl Verro which 4 children were born. Carla, Ann, Carl, and Arthur. She divorced him and then married Robert(Bob) Jones. Two children were born from that marriage Dale Edward and Michael Ray Jones.

Her last marriage was to Ollie Jackson and that ended in divorce. She had no children with him.

Dale and Michael were the only children she raised. We did forgive her after we was grown for all the years of pain and abuse we had at her hand.

Lila loved to Polka and square dance it brought her much joy. The city of Leslie held dances every year and she went without fail. Lila was a good cook when she did cook but she hated housework, and laundry.

Lila has many grandchildren. She had eight brothers, Robert (Bob) Greenslade, Floyd Charles Greensley (Charlie), Albert Lane, James Lane, Jack Lane, Sammy Lane, Lonnie Lane and Willie Lane; and six sisters, Marvel Dingee, Dorthea Dottie Lane, Bonnie Jean Lane, Shirley Mae Lane, Marion Lane, and Helen Lane. Step brothers and sisters, Wilford, Maurice, Robert, Gladys, Donald, and Rolland. She also had a son Johnny Lane born Jan. 23, 1951. My brother Johnny died Jan. 25, 1951.

Lila's sister Dottie 1927-1996

Lila's son Carl 1954-2007 my precious brother.

Lila's brother Bob 1922-1972

Lila's sister Bonnie 1933-2000

Lila's brother Jack 1946-2005
