ALLEN, Lawrence J., 77, of Powhatan, Va., passed away peacefully on November 18, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Frances Tipton Allen; his two children, Dale Johns Couch and Lawrence Keith Allen; stepson, Greg Tipton; his four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother; two sisters. His family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society .
