ALBERT, Clara Caroline
After 94 wonderful years, Clara passed away on August 19 after a brief illness. She was born in Spencer, Nebraska on April 14, 1918 to Adam and Eleanora Koenig. She married Richard Albert on December 27, 1937 and lived in Montana for many years before settling in Santa Barbara in 1958. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She was a devoted wife and mother of their only daughter, Janel. She was involved in the PTA, and was a devoted member of San Roque Parish, involved in the altar society for over 40 years. She took up golf in her 60's, was an avid gardener, member of the Women's Club, and was in several bridge groups. She loved traveling and visited many parts of the world, finding wonder everywhere she went. She volunteered for more than 20 years at a local Convalescent center, always giving of herself.
She is survived by her daughter, Janel Redman, son-in-law, Lance, and granddaughters Tanielle and Ryann who live in Orangevale. All will miss her dearly.
There will be a rosary on Friday, August 24 in the evening at 6:30 at Welch-Ryce-Haider on Sola Street. A funeral mass will be held at San Roque Catholic Church on Saturday, August 25 at 11 am, followed by a graveside service at Calvary Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to her home following the services for a reception.
