Rites for the late Miss Mary Gertrude Carr, a member of the 1939 class of Butler high school, were held at the Phelps funeral home in that town Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. E. J. Schuler officiated and burial was made in Big Run cemetery, east of Butler.

Miss Carr was nineteen years old and died Monday night at the Souder hospital in Auburn following an operation performed three weeks ago.

Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carr of Butler, two brothers, Huber, of St. Joe, and Henry, of Butler, and one sister, Mrs. Lester Thimlar of Butler.
