Evelyn Inez (Niswonger) Baker, age 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 2, 2011, at Tendercare, in Mt. Pleasant (Isabella County), Michigan, with her children surrounding her.
Evelyn was born on April 1, 1920, in Flint (Genesee County), Michigan, the daughter of Reverend Alvin and Inez (Foster) Niswonger. She was joined in marriage to A. Delos Baker on October 31, 1940, in Mt. Pleasant (Isabella County), Michigan.
Evelyn spent most of her life in the Mt. Pleasant area. She was a homemaker and also worked at Central Michigan University in the cafeteria and at JC Penney's as a salesclerk.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, where she was the longest member of the church.
She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, knitting and her word search books. Evelyn also enjoyed reading her Bible.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Delos on February 24, 1994.
