Nels Albaugh, a long-time resident of Douglas, died at his home on North Second Street last evening. Although he had been ill for over a year, his death was unexpected. He was able to be up yesterday and in the afternoon was out in the yard of his home, but in the evening he collapsed and death came quickly.
John Nelson Albaugh was a pioneer resident of Wyoming. A native of Ohio, he first came to the state in 1888 at the time of the founding of the town of Newcastle. His father was Jonas Albaugh and mother was E. Blaknew; both born in Ohio. He lived in Newcastle for many years and about twenty years ago came to Douglas and he had been a resident of this place since.
He is survived by his aged father and a number of brothers, all residents in Ohio, and an adopted son. He was about 58 years of age.
Information was obtained from his obituary in the Douglas Budget April 19, 1923 and mortuary records.
