Mrs. Allie Archer

CALDWELL – Mrs. Allie Archer, 87, of Caldwell died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday (May 13) at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. She had been ill several months.

She was born June 7, 1879, in Noble County, a daughter of Charles and Mary Dowell. She was a member of Caldwell First Methodist Church and Amazon Chapter 30, OES. Her husband, Amos Archer, died in 1931.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Scott of Mansfield; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Leota Curtis and Mrs. Lily Curtis, both of Summerfield and Mrs. Madge Davis of Caldwell. A daughter, Mrs. Opal McElfresh, died in 1958.

The body was taken to McVay Funeral Home here where friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Eastern Star rites will be conducted by Amazon at 7:30 p.m. today. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. DeForest Winner officiating. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery.
